Died, after a long battle against ill-health, in his beloved Hawaii. Real name Laurence, he was a big car specialist, but also decent in road races. A lover of the ocean, he was buried at sea. Sennett attempted to qualify for Indianapolis in a Maserati owned by Joe Barzda, but when competing at the Carrera Panamericana for two years (1950 and 1951) he drove an American car, an Oldsmobile 88, with a best finish of fifth in the former year. One of Sennett's best wins came in 1948, when he won the big car ARA Pacific Coast Championship race at Oakland Stadium. Sennett also raced in sprint and stock cars during his career.
