Now the official spokesman for the Marie-Robert Foundation, which devotes itself to head injuries, especially those caused in racing and motoring accidents. Bertrand is also a top motorsports journalist in Canada. As well as this, he also commentates, works for other charities and also races in winter, as well as being a tuner and has business interests. On top of all of this, he is also a racing instructor. As a racing driver, Bertrand was based both in France, where he finished as vice-champion in two successive years in different Formula Ford series, before moving back to North America to raced in Indy Lights and then Formula (then known as the Toyota) Atlantic series, where he became a race winner. After Formula 3000, he raced in a range of series, but they were largely touring or saloon car based. In 2016, he raced in the Nissan Micra Cup. In 2019, he made a surprise return to single-seaters, racing in the Canadian Formula 1600 series. He is also a proficient photographer.
