Died recently, after becoming increasingly frail. He still, however, appeared at a historic festival or two in his later years. Real name was Robert Montgomerie. Montgomerie-Charrington by and large raced in Formula 3 in his career before buying one of Bill Aston's cars to compete in major races in 1952. By and large it wasn't a success, despite 3rd at the Grand Prix des Frontieres at Chimay, and a somewhat disillusioned Montgomerie-Charrington retired before the year was out from the sport.
