Later ran a long-standing Chrysler and Plymouth dealership. Raced from the mid-1900's onwards and later settled in Pennsylvania. A hillclimb stalwart, he later also ran a farm from his home ranch. Zengel worked for the Pennsylvania Motor Car Company, and started in hillclimbs, before moving into stockcars. His best year was probably in 1909, when amongst other wins, he won the Algonquin Cup hillclimbing event. Zengel carried on for a while, but wasn't a fan of oval speedways and had retired by the time he got married in 1915.
