A long time IRL competitor, Robbie quit driving in 2004, for both business and team management opportunities, which he continues, as he runs a team which competes in the Indy 500, and occasionally in the Indycar series. Also works as a pundit on TV, whilst he is also involved in his family business still and local charity projects. He also has involvement in the garage dealership his team is affliated with. Robbie grew up on his family's farm and this allowed him access to machinery that helped hone his driving skills at an early age. Buhl ended up winning two races in the IRL during his eight seasons in the series. Robbie also runs a motorsports marketing and management business. Buhl also runs a rallycross team and has recently sent up a safe driving school specifically aimed at teenage drivers.
