Raced in the Open Nissan series, then in Spanish GT cars. More recently he has been running, and racing for, a team in the GTOC championship. In 2014, it was announced that he was moving more into motorsport administration, as he is largely responsible for running the new Spanish Formula 4 series which started in 2015, however de Castro stopped his involvement with that early in the season. Miguel Angel also runs a racing school, Drivex, which he founded with Pedro de La Rosa, and this takes up more of his time lately, but he also runs a team with the same name, and they appear in the Formula 4 series he initially aided with, amongst other series.
