Better known as an endurance racer and was a long-time racer in the American Le Mans Series. In 2003, with co-driver, Ron Fellows, Johnny won the GTS class drivers championship in the series and in 2004, won his class at Sebring. In 2009, he took a Le Mans class win. In 2011, Johnny switched to the SCCA Pirelli World Challenge GT championship, and stayed in the series until 2017. He won the title, until 2016, in every year bar his first season in the series; 2015 was his fourth successive title. Now living in Georgia, Johnny is a commentator for television and runs his own motorsports firm, whilst remaining as a Cadillac spokesman, promoter and sales agent. He is still racing and in 2023, appeared in the GT America Series, returning to that series again in 2024.
