Dirt track racer who was killed in a road car crash, when his car overturned after Jack suffered a heart-attack. Heart problems led to an early racing retirement and a move to the desert to try and get better, but Jack replaced racing by concentrating his efforts on his artwork. He was a portrait artist who often did pen and ink pictures of his fellow racing drivers, many of which were published in the Coast Auto Racing newspaper. Buxton was the 1928 AAA Pacific Southwest Champion as well as the ARA Southwest Champion and also competed in hot rods for a while.
