Based in Texas for much of his career, he appeared mostly in IMCA show events, often in special events at regional State Fairs. Raced from 1909 onwards, and achieved some success in minor events. Was still racing until just before his death, and son Jimmy later became a racing driver. George also drove a Mercedes in major races like the Elgin Trophy and Vanderbilt Cup. He then bought Bob Burman's car in 1916 (Burman was killed earlier in the year) and took a number of wins with the car, again in the Texas area.
