Killed in a road accident when a drunk driver crashed into him. Quinn was returning home after being told the race meeting he had planned to drive in had been cancelled due to rain. Won the 1930 AAA Pacific Coast title. Quinn started racing in his native Washington state on dirt tracks, before moving to California where he enjoyed immense success. Quinn's title success led to him driving at Indianapolis where he had been refused on numerous occasions due to having an abnormally enlarged heart and despite his rivals backing him, the authorities were concerned, wrongly, that he was a health risk until being proved wrong.
