Has worked as both an engine expert for Mugen Honda, but also as a project leader for Super Formula engines. Tenji worked as technical director of Mugen but before that, had racing invovlement with sportscars. Sakai has been involved with Honda for a while - he first worked with Honda as an engine specialist in the late 1980's. Joined Mugen in 1985 after a spell with Nissan.
