Possibly best known for his involvement in NASCAR, where he competed in over 20 events in a eight year period, he enjoyed his best season in 1975, finishing twenty-fifth in the series. He also raced in over forty USAC events, largely in midget and sprint car events. Jacobi has not been forgotten in Salem, as his trophies and other memorabilia was kept at the town's Stevens Museum. Jacobi's real first name was actually Harold.
