Another kart graduate, Sowery moved to the MSV Formula 3 Cup, winning the title in his first year of single-seater racing. He also took the MRF Formula 2000 title in 2015, which earned him a nomination for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver. He shone in Formula 3, winning 7 races in 2016 and 2017, but had to move to sportscars thereafter. His performances were impressive and it helped him with an Indycar drive in 2024. In 2025, he returned to sportscars (IMSA) predominantly but is also test and reserve driver for the RLL Indycar team.
