Moved back to America in 2009 and Indy Lights, before graduating to the Indy 500 in 2010. Since then, Saavedra's been in Indycar on & off - in 2015, he was once again racing on a part-time basis. In 2016, he tried something else completely, competing in a number of the Red Bull Global Rallycross events. In 2017, he returned to Indianapolis to compete in the '500 again, as well as a few drives in Indycars, but in 2018, he moved away from single-seaters and switched to the US Sportscar Series, where he remains in 2019, taking a class win that year at Daytona. In 2023, he raced in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America. He is predominantly Alliance Racing's driver coach for both the Trofeo and sportscars, but has the odd race in the series too.
