Son of Parnelli, PJ had a long racing history before his Indy 500 debut in 2004. In recent years, PJ, born Parnell Velko Jones, raced in sprint, dirt and midget cars, with an occasional stockcar drive. However, he has recently shifted to offroad racing. PJ also runs his business, PJ Performance, which specialises in UTV parts and accessories, although Jones also manufactures spares. PJ also spends a lot of time as a pilot and helps his two sons in racing. Jones is now based in Arizona.
