Car builder, who also collected and restored classic cars. Also known as Bunny, Phillips raced for quite a while, from the mid 1930's up until the late 1940's. Overton raced on dirt tracks and road courses as well as speedways. Phillips was a great Bugatti fan, even buying and racing one, without a huge amount of success, early on in his career. Phillips would've attempted the 1947 Indianapolis 500, but withdrew before qualifying due to an dispute between ASPAR (Association of Professional Auto Racers) and the Indianapolis Speedway.
