Joint winner of 1924 Indianapolis 500. Committed suicide after a long period of ill-health. Corum was a gifted racing driver but was also a qualified engineer who worked with the Chevrolet's Frontenac business and was one of the key engineers responsible for developing the company's famous Fronty-Ford. He also worked for Duesenberg, Stutz and General Motors as an engineer. Corum started racing in 1920 in board track racing but became known for being involved in a number of crashes before really finding his niche as a relief driver and riding mechanic in tandem with his engineering skills.
