Lives in Washington State and has many business interests. He is currently running his own VR Motion Corp business after a spell as Chief Development Officer for LeMay America's Car Museum. Dominic was also a founder of Motion Research wireless heads-up displays as well as being a holder of four patents. Dominic is also a developer of the Drip Sentry oil containment system and also deals in vintage racecars and sportscars. Still does some historic car racing and touring when he has the chance. Dobson had varying success at the very top level but whilst racing he also focused on his work as an instructor at Bob Bondurant's racing school. He retired from full-time single-seater racing in 1994 to take up a team management role, but carried on in touring cars for a few years. Dobson is also a fully qualified pilot.
