A consultant engineer, who tragically died, aged just 45, from a stroke. Jessop was asked to design the Rondel Formula 1 car which would've been Ron Dennis' first foray in Formula 1, but when the oil crisis occured, Dennis sold everything to the the duo that then formed the Token team. Jessop stayed on and designed the RJ02 but it wasn't a great success. The team was sold to Safir Engineering and Jessop again stayed loyal to his new employers, designing the Safir RJ03, before passing away. He also designed the Delta RJ03 Formula 3 car in 1975. Before his foray with the Rondel project, Ray worked with Brabham for around five years after initially working with British Aerospace.
