Mercier is still the director of engineering at Renault Sport F1, and has been with the marque since 1987. Previously worked for ENSPM and HEI. Mercier, in recent years, has specifically been working on the Energy Tce engine for Renault, a 1.2 litre engine, which is specifically fuel-efficient.
