Williams F1's new driver in 2018, Sergey won the Formula Abarth European Series championship in 2011, aged just sixteen years of age. Sergey then drove in Auto GP, Italian Formula 3 and Formula Renault 3.5; the latter of which he competed in for three seasons. In 2013, aged just seventeen, he started his Formula 1 involvement as Sauber's test and reserve driver, coming close to being what would've then been the youngest ever Formula 1 driver. Sirotkin then raced for a while in GP2, winning three times and dovetailed this with extensive testing for Renault and their Formula 1 car. He lost his seat at the end of 2018 and moved to endurance racing for 2019. He remained racing until 2021. Now also runs a karting academy for very young Russian children to learn their first motorsport steps and in 2022, was named the executive director of the Russian Automobile Federation. Made a surprise return to racing, in endurance events, in 2024.
