Russia |
Grands Prix: | 110 (2014-2020) |
Russian youngster, surprisingly chosen by Toro Rosso as their driver for their 2014 season, but on his debut became the youngest ever points scorer in F1. GP3 champion in 2013, his rise to the top was spectacularly quick. That said, a move to Red Bull to replace Vettel in 2015 was a big surprise, but Daniil did reasonably. However in 2016, he was demoted back to Toro Rosso, where he remained in 2017, but after a disappointing season, he was dropped towards the end of the year. In 2018, he moved to Ferrari in a test and development role but returned to driving with Toro Rosso in 2019 and remained there in 2020. In 2021, he stayed in Formula 1 but in the test and reserve driver role for Alpine. Due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, his career was on hiatus, but he secured a NASCAR drive for the latter part of 2022 and appeared in the World Endurance Championship in 2023. He remained in the latter for 2024, as well as appearing in IMSA events.
