Returned to Brazil to race stock-cars but little heard of lately, bar involvement in both the historic side and lower formulae side of the sport in his home country, although mainly as an adhoc consultant or spectator. His career started quite strongly but a few accidents and a lack of finance put paid to any further progress at home, the US or Europe. He started racing in karts in 1976, before racing in stockcars and Formula 3 before his sojourn to America.
