Sprint car legend, who continued to race sprints and midget cars until he was nearly 70! Lives in Winchester, Indiana, where he runs a racing school. Bigelow started his racing career as long ago as 1956, racing in jalopy stock cars but also dabbled with motorcycles and speed boats before settling down in midget racing and subsquently, sprint cars, where he never did win the national title, despite coming very close. Bigelow also raced in ARCA stock cars as well as many attempts at Indianapolis. In 2015, a race at Berlin Raceway in Michigan was named the Tom Bigelow Classic in his honour. Won the USAC National Sprint Car title in 1978.
