His post-IRL career was pretty much non-existent, and is now involved in motorsport marketing and business development for TEC Engineering, where he runs racing projects and marketing campaigns. Chesson started racing in sprint cars, impressing greatly in the World of Outlaws sprint car series. In 2004, he made the surprise switch to single-seaters but did well in Infiniti Pro almost immediately, which allowed him to progress into the IRL. Chesson still lives in New Jersey; his wife is a country music singer and songwriter, and that influence was reflected with the name of their first child; Cash, after the great, late Johnny Cash.
