Recent Indycar graduate, still in the series until 2021. He is now retired from driving and currently working as a race strategist. Charlie was based mostly in Indy Lights, although he also raced in Europe, including in British F3. Son of Gordon Kimball, the former F1 engineer and designer, Charlie was born in England whilst Gordon worked in Formula 1 with McLaren. Still in the Indycar series, albeit part-time now, Charlie also has had to overcome the lifelong issue of type 1 diabetes to race, and the manufacturer of his insulin that he has to use, are one of his main sponsors.
