Burst onto the scene as a young driver, but had a break whilst getting her business degrees and whilst working for a marketing company. At the end of 2010, she retired from racing to concentrate on running her IRL team full-time after a number of years of reasonable success. She also wanted to start a family, which she has now done. In 2014, she announced that from 2015, her team would merge with Ed Carpenter's outfit, but also returned to racing in sprint and dirt cars in 2015 and 2016. Also in 2016, her part of the team split from Ed Carpenter, although she is still involved with sponsorship development with the team. She is still the most experienced female driver in Indianapolis 500 history.
