Sprint car legend, still racing and winning in the World of Outlaws series despite a huge accident in 2001. An accomplished engineer, he also runs a motorsports team. Still lives in Germantown. Swindell was the son of Sam Swindell, a more than capable racer himself, who bought a supermodifed car for Sammy to race when he was fifteen years of age. Sam's early grounding plus the family genes saw him enjoy a lot of sucess very early on. Swindell, as well as sprint cars, has also raced supermodifed and midget cars and also had a brief spell in NASCAR.
