St. Louis, Missouri

United States

Indy 500s:

0 (1983)

Veteran NASCAR driver, who initially retired at the end of 2013 from driving full-time and for many years ran an ARCA team. His only Indy attempt was ended by a crash in practice and the expected switch to open wheel racing never did happen. Ken has also written a book about his career. Schrader was USAC Sprint Car Champion in 1983 before moving to NASCAR in 1984. He won four times - between 1988 and 1991 - but was always consistent in the many years he appeared in the series. He has also worked as a television analyst. In 2021, he was forced to shut his ARCA team due to lack of sponsorship but still runs a team in dirt-track racing. That allowed him more time to go racing again, mainly in super-modified cars, which he still does to this day, but even tried to race a school bus in 2021!
