Younger brother of Billy, who came close but failed his rookie test in 1973. Ron is a sprint car legend, and is still involved with the discipline as a promoter and as President of the Sprint Car Racing Association. He even returned to the tracks to race again in 2008 and 2009! Lives in Arizona. Ron started racing in 1968, initially on a motorcycle, before moving into racing on 4 wheels in 1970. He found great success instantly in his home state before going on to enjoy success nationwide. Away from racing, Shuman is a huge golf fan, who enjoys playing that and also billiards.
