Brother of Bernard, father of Michel Jr. Michel helps support his sons' career, and also works as a race promoter in Mexico, including the NASCAR Peak Series and more recently, the Super Copa. Over the years, he has been responsible for organising nearly thirty different series and events, something he has passed onto his son. Although born in Brussels, Jourdain, full name Jourdain Declerq, has lived in Mexico City for most of his life. Also occasionally races in historic or special events and Michel used to race with his son in the Baja 1000 endurance off-road event. Michel also does some television work and broadcasting.
