Now back in Australia, and raced for a while in V8 Supercars and V8 Utes. Marcus then left the sport for a while after failing to find a suitable drive and went on to work in Bali, Indonesia for a Western Australian oil and gas company as a miner. He also briefly worked as a racing driver coach. In 2015, however he returned to the sport, and to touring cars once again, although only as a part-time driver as he has business interests away from racing. In 2016, he appeared in Australian endurance events instead, again part-time.
