Ex-Cosworth and Toyota man, who then became chief designer at Toro Rosso. In 2007, he moved into a different role with the company, focusing on energy solutions and advanced technologies. He then, for around four years, became the technical director at Porsche with a specific role as their LMP1 Head of Development. In 2016, he left this role, and indeed motorsport, to take up an energy and design role in a different environment, which ended up being working with the IT giant, Apple on both systems and their car development. More recently, he is back in the car industry as he is one of the technical directors of the Volkswagen group specifically working on autonomous vehicles and electric cars.
