Notes on the cars:

  1. Ferrari Dino 246/58 [0002] (Peter Collins): Peter Collins' main car in 1958, this car wasn't seen again after his fatal accident at the German GP. It was then "either extensively modified or replaced by a new car under the same serial" (Nye) for 1959. The car was later scrapped. (Source: History of the Grand Prix Car 1945-65, Nye; Ferrari, Tanner & Nye; Dino, The Little Ferrari, Nye)
  2. Ferrari Dino 246/58 [0003] (Mike Hawthorn): Mike Hawthorn's main car for 1958 and may have been the '0005' used later that season. Then "either extensively modified or replaced by a new car under the same serial" (Nye) for 1959 and again for 1960. It was then destined to be a show car for the Henry Ford Museum in 1962 after which it spent many years at Luigi Chinetti's in New York. Acquired by Anthony Bamford for historic racing in 1979. (Source: History of the Grand Prix Car 1945-65, Nye; Ferrari, Tanner & Nye; Dino, The Little Ferrari, Nye)
  3. Cooper Mk III 'T45' [F2-30-57?] (Roy Salvadori): Roy Salvadori's 1959 works F1 Cooper Mk III (T45) is, like his teammate's, something of a puzzle. Two cars appear in Cooper records as being 1959 works cars and the F1 Register have identified the first of these, F2-30-57, as Salvadori's car. (Sources: Cooper Cars, Nye; A Record of Grand Prix Racing 1954-1959, Sheldon with Rabagliati)
  4. Cooper Mk III 'T45' [F2-31-57?] (Jack Brabham): Jack Brabham ran a new 1960cc Mk III (T45) in 1959 F1 races but it is not clear which chassis number it was allocated. Both F2-30-57 and F2-31-57 appear in Cooper records as 1958 works cars and the F1 Register have identified Brabhams car as the latter of these. The car that Brabham usually used with the 1960cc engine is plausibly the car Jack Fairman used in Morocco while Brabham used a F2 car. (Sources: Cooper Cars, Nye; A Record of Grand Prix Racing 1954-1959, Sheldon with Rabagliati)
  5. Ferrari Dino 246/58 [0001] (Wolfgang von Trips): The first true Dino 246 F1 was last seen at the 1958 British GP but was then "either extensively modified or replaced by a new car under the same serial" (Nye) for a one-off appearance in Argentina in 1960. The car was later scrapped. (Source: History of the Grand Prix Car 1945-65, Nye; Ferrari, Tanner & Nye; Dino, The Little Ferrari, Nye)

3-litre Formula 1 World Championship events 1966-1985

These 1966 to 1985 results were initially compiled by Allen Brown, but these were in the very basic form required to track individual car histories. Since then further details, such as laps completed, qualifying times and so on, have been added from Rob Ryder's extensive database.
