Northern Pacific SCCA Formula B 1975
As Northwest Region had lost its usual venue and was having to hold races over the Canadian border at Westwood, it required travelling a lot of miles to compete in the whole NorPac Divisional race in 1975. Only Jon Norman really did that, winning the class at Oregon Region's Rose Cup Races in June, then taking second in class at the Laguna Seca June Sprints, and winning his class at Westwood in August. Tom Crowther won the opening race at Sears Points but retired his Falconer-bodied March 722 from too many races to be a factor.
Tom Gloy won at Westwood in June in his new Lola T360, but was only using it as a test session before the Canadian series began. Bill Hill and Bob Tracy were more concerned about ICSCC events. George Gettel's Royale is the main mystery this year. Gettel had been living in San Rafael, but later that season scored points at a race in Roswell that were credited to him separately in Midwest Division.

Northern Pacific Division sources
Most of our knowledge of NorPac racing comes from the SCCA's Sports Car magazine, from Competition Press & Autoweek and from an extensive collection of San Francisco Region's The Wheel newsletter from 1971 onwards. We are very keen to acquire or borrow 1960s, 1970s and 1980s copies of all three of the main SCCA regional publications in this division:
- The Wheel (San Francisco Region)
- Northwest Sports Car News (Northwest Region)
- Loud Pedal (Oregon Region)
We are also keen to get scans of entry lists from SCCA Nationals, notably the Laguna Seca Sprints and the Rose Cup Races.
