Swedish Formula 3 1981
Sweden's national championship was opened up to Formula Super Vee and Formula Ford 2000 cars for 1981, but Formula 3 cars dominated all the races. Having been easily the quickest driver in the 1980 series, Bengt Trägårdh retained his March 803 and won the first four races to ensure the championship. 1980 champion Thorbjörn Carlsson bought a brand new Ralt RT3/81 but could not challenge Trägårdh, finishing behind him in second place three times before winning at Karlskoga after Trägårdh's engine failed.
Behind these two, Tomas Kaiser also had a new Ralt, and Jan Ridell had a one-year-old Argo JM6. Of the Formula Super Vee runners, only John Nielsen had the latest Ralt RT5/81.
