Only major as a driver was the Indianapolis 500 attempt. Was mainly a riding mechanic, as that was his profession. Larry, who drove a Jones & Maley Duesenberg car was a Duesenberg employee and worked on engine assembly and design in particular. A prematurely balding chap, it is not clear if his 1932 attempt was a serious effort to qualify or a shakedown for the company of their racing car, but either way, Larry failed to qualify.
