Son of Henrik, who was the 2000 European Rally Champion and also a touring car driver, Lundgaard is another kart graduate who enjoyed a very successful 2017, enjoying winning the SMP and Spanish F4 Championships. He progressed to GP3 in 2018 and then made his debut in the season finale in Yas Marina in Formula 2 the following year. A member of the Renault (now Alpine) Academy, he has won a number of races in Formula 2 which helped him get a drive in Indycar in 2021 and he remains there in 2025.
