UK Formula Atlantic ("Indylantic") 1976 points table
This table was constructed by Chris Townsend based on his detailed research of the 1976 Indylantic series. Five points were awarded for pole position and five for fastest race lap. So it appears that the points system was 25-22-20-18-16-15-14-13-12-11 for the first ten places but then continuing with 10-9 for 11th and 12th. With nothing awarded for a retirement, the system rewarded reliability and a good attendance record.
The points system in the 7-lap qualifying heats gave pole to the lowest scorer. A win scored zero, second placed scored 3, third 3 and so on. A retirement scored 21 and a non-start scored 25.
