Died in 2007 from cancer. Mainly based nationally during his racing career, but attempted a few Grand Prix weekends before leaving the sport. A regular in Formula Vee, his best result in his homeland was possibly coming second at the Rand Winter Trophy in 1970. Ferguson was more regularly seen in sportscars. He raced in the category from 1960 until 1972, most often in a Lola T210; he was a regular attendee of events at Kyalami. Ferguson's best result was the 3 Hours of Bulawayo race in 1970; he came second and took a class win at the Kumalo racetrack. Ferguson also raced Lola's in non-championship Formula 1 events in his homeland and often raced a Lola T142.
