An amateur driver, he mainly raced in club and historic races during his career. Died in a nursing home after a period of ill-health. Bill's father was a car salesman and this influenced Bill's love of cars and helped him start in the sport, as Bill followed his father into the business and their success helped raise the capital to buy one of the old Remus ERA's raced by Prince Birabongse pre-war. Bill also raced in Formula Junior for a while with some good results.
