After Formula 3000, Lauren then switched to numerous forms of endurance racing. Also raced in the IRL, but now runs racing schools in Europe and the US. Also had a recent spell as a team manager in Formula Superleague. Laurent was the 1995 French Formula 3 champion after a rapid rise after graduating from the Elf Winfield racing school but despite being Minardi's test driver in 1998 - where he almost got a drive part-way through the season - he never made it to Formula 1, becoming a race winner in both the Sports Racing World Cup and in the European Le Mans Series.
