Still alive and living in Dallas, Texas. Semi-retired, but is still President of his solar energy and lighting products company, KW2 Prime Time Lighting. Hutchison - whose full name is Augustus - was the 1967 North American F5000 champion but it was only really that series that saw sustained success for Gus. A qualified chemist, Gus founded his chemical business Chemscope in 1962 and became a millionaire just a few years later. Although he had started racing four years prior to that, his newly found funds allowed him to atempt racing more seriously from 1966 onwards. Gus also founded a racing engine business which focused on SCCA racing.
