Now retired from driving. He worked as a TV commentator on the DTM and other events for Motors TV and other TV channels. Rees, a big football fan, shot through the ranks, winning a string of titles and awards between 1990 and 1996 - McLaren Autosport Young Driver of the Year, Formula Ford 1600, the Formula Opel Lotus Euroseries and British Formula 2, but a lack of funds hampered his career beyond that. Although English born, Rees grew up in Cardiff, Wales, initially, before moving to Bath; his father had an automobile business which saw the family move a few times.
