In 2010, Dan appeared in Indy Lights and in 2011 & 2012, he was in the Canadian Tyres NASCAR series. In the last few years, he has competed in GT racing in the United States, and in 2015, was in the Continental Tire Challenge series racing Minis. Clarke started racing in 2001, racing in Formula Ford and his peak in the series came in 2004, when he came runner-up in the British series and won the end of season Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch. After one year in British F3, Clarke attempted an ambitious move to America in 2006, where he remained until 2016, when he moved to South Africa to race in a new single-seater racing series, based on the former A1-GP cars; Dan has been the test and development driver for the series since late 2015. In 2017, he moved back to the US and is currently a professional driving instructor for the Mid-Ohio School and the Ford Driving Skills for Life programme. He also races in the Michelin Pilot Series.
